How it Works

First, you reach out to us to book a consultation so we can start a dialogue about your fitness goals. We open a conversation to learn more about you and ask details about your health and fitness history, lifestyle, eating habits, and more. Sometimes, we’ll ask about your current fitness community and network to determine if you need accountability coaching.

We want to know as much about you as possible so we can put together a compelling fitness plan to help you achieve your goals.

Once we learn more about you, we can either start to craft the perfect program for you to do on your own or create a program that you can do with one of our trainers on a regular basis. Some people need more coaching, and some need less. It really depends on your starting point and where you want to go.

What You Get

We always start with a consultation to get to know you better. When you start training with EverFlex, the primary goal is to help you achieve progress, whether that’s weight loss, improved strength, injury rehabilitation, or training for a marathon. We really want to give you the best chance at success. To do this, we’ll customize everything you really need. That could be an exercise training program, an accountability partner, a nutrition plan, a group to train with, an online training plan, or weekly check-ins.

We tailor a program for you that will lead to your success — there’s nothing cookie-cutter about our fitness plans. We have many different trainers who have worked in every niche possible and can provide programs to improve your cardiovascular health, strength, endurance, mobility, or whatever sport you want. We will send you home with the perfect program for your needs to achieve progress and crush goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Calgary personal training ranges in price. The average price we’ve seen throughout the industry is around $80 per hour typically in big box gyms or private studios. Costs can vary greatly depending on the location and service. Most gyms will also offer training packages ranging from $200 to $3,000 and get you training 1 to 3 times per week for months at a time. If you’re looking for a more affordable personal trainer in Calgary, consider small-group training or split the cost with a buddy.

There are a few different reasons why you might want to pay for a trainer at the gym:

  • You’re completely new to fitness
  • You need professional accountability
  • You don’t have time to devote to learning about fitness and creating a program yourself
  • You have injuries that you need to work around

If you’re able to pay for the prices offered and check one or more of the list above, hiring a trainer will help you progress safely and effectively on your fitness journey. On the flip side, if you have lots of time, are experienced in the gym, are extremely motivated and have no injuries, then you can probably learn the basics yourself or work with a trainer once in a while to have them build you a program.

We have trainers that have worked with the same people for 20+ years. It really depends on the relationship that’s built and the quality of service provided. You should stay with a trainer as long as you feel comfortable with the value that’s provided on an ongoing basis.

Yes. One PT session per week is usually enough for the average person. If you want to make maximum progress, you should be in the gym more often, though. We often say that one session a week makes it so that you don’t regress anymore, but you may be just maintaining your fitness. To see the most effective progress with your trainer, aim for two or three sessions.

Personal trainers are great for helping with weight loss as they understand the variables necessary to change your body composition. Most of the trainers on our team have experience in helping clients with weight loss and some trainers have nutritional coaching credentials to help clients in the kitchen.

With our personal trainers, we can help you out in any way you need when it comes to your fitness and health. We build fitness plans based on individual needs (weight loss, build strength, power, endurance, etc.) and monitor your movement patterns during your workout to ensure you’re moving safely and targeting the right muscle groups. At EverFlex, we also include nutrition coaching to discuss your eating habits and make sure you’re eating appropriately for your goals. Each of these skills allows us to maximize the chances that you make progress. In addition, we listen to your concerns and ask you about any issues that you may have.

Losing weight with a personal trainer should be quicker than doing it on your own, as we can direct you to the right tools and information that allow you to lose weight in the healthiest way possible. The healthiest and safest way to lose weight is at a rate of about 1 lb per week for most people; however, you can bring that up to 2 lbs in certain scenarios. In the fastest scenario, you could lose 20 lbs with a trainer in two and a half months.

To find the best personal trainer for you, first, consider your goals. For example, if you have an athletic goal, you may want to find a trainer with an athletic background. If you want to be injury-free, search for someone with a rehabilitation background. If you’re lucky, you may find one that has worked in both areas, which can help you accomplish both goals. Once you find a few trainers that align with your goals, next you need to make sure that you can afford the trainer. If you can, book a consultation to meet and see if you’ll work well together.

You should spend what you can afford on a trainer. First, come up with a budget to figure out how much you can allot to your fitness, and also think about how much time you have to train. These two factors make a big difference in how much you should spend on a calgary personal trainer. If your budget allows it, $80 for one session per week is a great place to start to build consistency. If you have more time and are short on money, it may be more advantageous to go in once a month to have a trainer build you a program.

In our experience, seeing a client once per week seems to do wonders for their consistency. We also have many clients who will have a PT session twice or three times per week. The people who want a program once a month do great in the beginning but sometimes slide off with consistency.

A 30-minute training session is almost never enough. A short session of 30 minutes leaves little time to assess your issues. Sometimes it takes around 20 minutes to warm up if you have a specific issue that we need to address. We try to keep sessions at a minimum of 45 minutes if possible, but they usually end up being around an hour.

You can start to see results with a personal trainer within a couple weeks to a couple months, depending on what type of results you’re looking for. If you want to gain strength and feel fitter, you can usually feel these things right away. If you’re aiming to lose 20 lbs, it may take a bit longer.

Working out with a personal trainer is costly because of their time and expertise. Typically, personal trainers spend one full hour of their day with each client, plus additional time programming and organizing exercises to ensure the plan suits the client’s goals. Their years of schooling and certifications allows them to implement exercise science and research so their programs are safe and effective for the body. Because personal training is service-based, many trainers are contractors that need to charge a reasonable rate to make a living.

Absolutely! Two PT sessions per week are usually enough for most people. In our experience, you will make some great progress seeing a coach twice a week, especially if you do other physical activities during the week.

A fitness program tailored for you should usually cost at least an hour of the personal trainer’s time to build. Typically that will be in the $80 to $100 range. If you want something that’s not customized, you can find programs online for much much cheaper; however, there are risks in doing a program that’s not designed for you.
